Engineering that manufactures, installs and answers for what it delivers
SOTIC — Société de Travaux d'Ingénierie et de Consultance — designs and builds the tools of agro-industrial processing in Côte d'Ivoire, and carries out the building and civil works that house them.
Born of a simple observation: the value was leaving
Côte d'Ivoire produces some of the world's largest volumes of cocoa, cashew, rubber and cassava. For decades, most of that output left the country in raw form, leaving processing — and the added value it generates — to take place thousands of kilometres from the fields that produced it.
SOTIC was built around the conviction that this situation is an engineering problem as much as an economic one: processing locally requires equipment suited to the raw materials actually available, sized for dispersed supplies, maintainable with the skills and parts accessible on site, and housed in works designed for that purpose.
It is that requirement which led the company to bring together under one roof a design office, a mechanical manufacturing workshop and a works capability — three trades most operators handle separately, at the cost of the grey areas of responsibility that invariably appear at commissioning.
This text is a proposed outline. It must be completed by SOTIC with the factual elements of its history: year of incorporation, legal form, milestones in its development, location of its sites, evolution of headcount and trades. Once verified, that information will replace the generic wording above.

Making local processing technically sound and economically sustainable
A processing unit is only worth building if it is still running in five years. Our mission is therefore less about selling machines than about installing durable production tools, operated by trained teams and maintained with accessible parts.
Mission
To design, manufacture, install and maintain agro-industrial processing and mechanisation equipment suited to the real operating conditions of Ivorian and regional sectors, and to build the civil works that house them.
Vision
To help ensure that a growing share of the value of national agricultural output is created on national soil, through technically reliable units operated by local teams and integrated into their production areas.
Ambition
To be the reference technical partner for the cooperatives, industrial companies and institutions undertaking a processing or mechanisation project, from feasibility study to performance monitoring after commissioning.
Four principles that can be checked in the field
Values are only worth stating if they produce observable consequences in design, on site and in after-sales service.
Technical rigour
Every proposal rests on an explicit calculation — material balance, energy balance, mechanical sizing — and not on an analogy with a neighbouring installation.
Durability in operation
We design for the maintenance that is actually possible: locally referenced components, access to wear parts, documentation handed over and training delivered.
Safety of people
Fixed guards, position interlocks, accessible isolation devices, capture of dust and vapours: safety is designed on the drawing, not after the accident.
Local roots
Manufacturing in a local workshop, use of national skills, transfer of know-how to client teams: the durability of an installation depends on its technical environment.
From agronomic need to machine, then to observed performance
A processing project is treated as a system: the material, the process, the machine, the building, the energy and the people form a whole whose performance is set by its weakest link.
Understand the material and the supply
Characterisation of the raw material, seasonality, collection radius, storage constraints. It is this step that sets capacity, not an ambition stated in advance.
Deliverables
- Material balance per tonne in
- Target throughput t/h and h/year
- Assumptions documented
Choose the process before the machine
The process determines the machine, never the reverse. Technology options are compared on yield, quality obtained, energy consumption and operating complexity.
Deliverables
- Process flow diagram
- Energy balance kWh and MJ/t
- Comparison of options
Design and manufacture
General and detail drawings, bill of materials, choice of materials and standard components, manufacture in the workshop, dimensional checks and no-load testing.
Deliverables
- Drawings and bill of materials
- Checks dimensional
- Testing no-load, in workshop
Build the host structure
Blocks, slabs, networks, ventilation, zone separation: the building is a component of the production line, treated as such by our construction division.
Deliverables
- Drawings civil works
- Blocks sized
- Networks and effluent
Commission and train
Erection, alignments, load testing, joint acceptance, training of line operators and maintenance technicians, handover of documentation.
Deliverables
- Test records under load
- Maintenance plan preventive
- Training certified
Monitor real performance
The first seasons reveal the gaps between calculated and observed performance. That feedback informs settings, training and the design of subsequent equipment.
Deliverables
- Records of production
- Gaps analysed
- Actions corrective
Three trades, one point of contact
The separation between equipment supplier, design office and works contractor is the leading cause of drift in industrial projects. We have removed it.
Design and calculation
Sizing of processes and machines, working drawings, calculation notes, layout, choice of components and preparation of technical files.
Mechanical manufacturing
Cutting, forming, welded fabrication, machining, assembly, inspection and no-load testing. Capability to manufacture replacement wear parts for installed equipment.
Site and commissioning
Civil works, on-site erection, connections, load testing, acceptance, team training and maintenance work.
